Virginia believes that to make art is to explore a new way of seeing.
She explores aspects of subjects through analyses and manipulation of pattern, line, shape, and repetition.
Her images are usually taken from landscape and the natural world.
She is a print maker who often uses etching techniques in her work.
Drawing with an etching needle is a satisfying, tactile process. Working with the image permits an extension of drawing that can result in an enhanced view of the subject.
Printmaking is challenging and the results are sometimes surprising!
Virginia is a librarian who worked for the Western Counties Regional Library for 34 years.
Since retirement she has enjoyed working at Th’YARC Print Shop in Yarmouth and learning about printmaking from Print Shop founder Cecil Day.
