Maggie Schmidt Mandell was born in New York in 1941. She now lives in Wedgeport, NS. She has studied art at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York and with Richard Lindner, Jacob Landau, Philip Pearlstein at Greenfield Community College, Greenfield, MA. Her work has been exhibited at Zwicker’s Gallery, Halifax, NS; he Sign of the Whale, Yarmouth, NS; MUSC Wellness Center, solo show, Charleston, SC; Gibbs Museum Studio, Charleston, SC; Kastel Gallery, Solo Show, Montreal PQ; The Back Room Gallery, Victoria, BC; The Little Gallery, Victoria, BC and many other locations. As well as being a painter, she has worked as a creative director for Advertising agencies in New York and Montreal. and had an interior design business.
