Maurice

Maurice LeBlanc, born in West Pubnico, NS, spent fourty-two years teaching mainly Art History.  During the 1970’s he started to paint in watercolour and oil. He studied with outstanding Canadian and American painters such as Jean-Pauo Ladouceur of the Société canadienne de l’aquarelle, Nicole Foreman, Jan Cullen, and Jeannie Hancock. In the summer of 1985, he spent six weeks in Madrid, Spain, studying drawing and painting. He also studied in workshops organized in Quebec by the Société canadienne de l’aquarelle

Maurice has exhibited his paintings in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec and Ontario. He has been  a Member of the Yarmouth Waterfront Gallery since its foundation in 2001. He is a Life Member of the Yarmouth Art Society. He exhibits regularly at the Musée historique des Pubnicos, at the Community Centre (French School in Tusket), at the Galérie Père Léger Comeau (Université Sainte-Anne), Yarmouth County Museum and at the Yarmouth Arts Regional Centre. He has a permanent collection at the parish rectory  in Amirault’s Hilll, at the Red Cap Restaurant in Pubnico and at the Dominion Lending Centres in Yarmouth.
